March 19,2022, 40th Annual St. Pat's in Five Points Parade, Columbia, SC



It was an overcast day, but that did not stop the estimated 40K attendees from celebrating 40 years of St. Pat's in Five Points, Columbia, SC this past Saturday. There was amazing food, terrific crafts by local vendors, and live music throughout the day. Below is a photo essay highlighting the parade that kicked off Saturday's festivities which concluded with a stellar performance by Blues Traveller. Kudu Coffee and Kraft Beer has an elegant yet casual atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent beverages served by professional and friendly staff - who seem connected to each other and project a sense of community. The cafe offers indoor and outdoor seating and features a selection of coffee, espresso, and assorted beverages, plus a variety of sandwiches, pastries, and other nibbles. Whether you want some quiet alone time to meditate over your brew or catch up with your best mates, it is a pleasant place to be. All photos in this section by Dawn Hunter.

The cafe offers indoor and out door seating. Indoor seating is comprised of "bar stools" or high seats at the service bar, several high top tables that can seat 6-8 adults, and four top tables by the side and front windows. Outdoor seating is comprised of two and four top tables in a beautiful courtyard of lush greenery.

Meena Khalili At the Warmouth



Meena Khalili offered a selection of prints of her Drawn in Soda City series. The series is comprised of iconic sites in Columbia, SC that are core visuals to the city's cultural identity.

It was a cold, windy, and rainy day, however that did not stop art lovers from venturing out into the community to see establish and emerging artists work.

EVENT HIGHLIGHT - for the week of March 7-13, 2022



Cottontown Art Crawl, Columbia, SC



When: Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 10AM - 3PM. Where: Historic Cottontown, Columbia.
The corridor to the event is at 2200 Sumter Street. The entire event is outdoors. Masks and social distancing are encouraged.



Historic Columbia Features and Supports Local Artists:



Cottontown Art Crawl, 4th year



115 local artists are slated to display and sell their work in an outdoor setting. Integrated into the event are local businesses that sponsor and feature an artist at their venue, as well as, music, food, and other scheduled activities.

Soda City Paintings: 8" x 10" giclee Prints.



Critically acclaimed designer and UofSC professor Meena Khalili will feature a selection of prints created from her Drawn Daily series at The Warmouth during the crawl. The Drawn Daily is an ongoing, studio practice, drawing event. Through that process, Khalili integrates and records the city's identity in a manner that resonates with the specificity of place and shared cultural experience. Beautiful, energetic, and visceral are just a few adjectives that come to mind when viewing Rebecca Horne's work. A self-taught artist, her metaphoric abstractions range in size from 8" x 10" - 36" x 48." Horne will feature several of her recent studio creations at 2145 Marion Street.
